It’s done. I’m finally a McNeill!

So it’s official. I am stuck with him for the rest of eternity. :) The wedding was absolutely beautiful! I was worried about the weather since it rained the day before but God held the raindrops until after the ceremony. (Seriously, right as we were leaving the park, it started to sprinkle!) The sun was shining and there was a nice breeze blowing through the trees.

Together for all eternity.

Together for all eternity.

The ceremony was held under giant pine trees on a small little clearing where Chris proposed to me four months earlier. My grandmother, my sister and her husband, my other two sisters and brother, my three nieces, and my cousin and her son were all there. It was quite special! The ceremony itself only lasted a few minutes. All I remember is looking around at everyone’s faces to keep from looking at Chris the entire time. His eyes were locked on mine, I knew if I stared too long in his I would start bawling. :P And I did. Chris recited his vows so beautifully. Me, on the other hand, couldn’t get my lines straight. I started to cry a little and to keep from crying anymore, I started to laugh quite a bit. Which in turn made everyone else cry and laugh. :P It was quite funny. Typical Trina! I finally got through my lines with teary eyes and we placed our rings on each others fingers and kissed and hugged. It was absolutely breathtaking. I enjoyed having our family there. It definitely beat the hell out of a JOP wedding!

All Smiles

All Smiles & Butterflies!

After the ceremony, we thanked Ken, the gentleman who married us and gave him a thank you card as well as a donation to his church. The guy was quite unique. He’s a catechist who belongs to a Native American Catholic Church. Chris and I are not Catholic so Ken catered to our beliefs and done a more spiritual ceremony. Which was quite nice. He even introduced a few Native American touches, which is nice since I am part Choctaw!

After signing our marriage license (how cool!) my grandmother took us all out to McDonald’s for lunch. The McDonald’s just so happened to be the same one our mom took us to as kids. So that was a nice touch! We played and goofed around in the play area for awhile and then the rest headed back to my sister’s house while Chris, my sister, and I headed back to the park for a fun photoshoot. We must have stayed at the park for almost two hours. Was so much fun posing and goofing around. My sister, Kelsey, managed to snap 400 or so photos of us! (I am still in the process of going through all of them) The heat was too much for us after awhile so we finished off the afternoon with some yummy ice cream!

One of the many fun photos Kelsey took of us

Four o’clock was now approaching and so we headed over to my aunt’s where the reception was being held. As soon as we walked in the door, I saw this gorgeous white table cloth covering my aunt’s kitchen table. And on top was this beautiful white wedding cake. It was exactly what I had dreamed of. Simple yet elegant! And might I add, freaking delicious. The table was also covered in gifts, cards, and beautiful white roses.

My family insisted on Chris and I to feed each other the first pieces of cake. (I totally forgot about all those traditional wedding things) Everyone said that apparently the wife is suppose to smash the piece of cake in her husband’s face. I was all up for that! After of course, making sure Chris was NOT going to do the same. While we we feeding each other the cake, my cousin yelled “Smash the cake!” and so I did. And Chris followed.. rawr! He was not suppose to. :P But it was all fun. We took a few more photos, of us drinking wine (which was actually just Capri-Sun, haha) with cake still on our face. Made for some fun photos though! :)

I think I got it worse.. All in my hair & up my nose!

I think I got it worse.. All in my hair & up my nose!

After Kelsey took a few more photos of us in my aunt’s beautiful back yard. We all went swimming. And finished off the night with lots of laughter & good times. Around 9pm, we drove off in our newly-decorated car that said “Just Married!” on the back. Not to mention the rattling of coke cans tied to the back of our car. What a nice looking ride. :D

Chris and I were so exhausted when we got home that we actually considered going straight to bed. We quickly decided against it since we still had our gifts to give one another. So while the camcorder was rolling, in the low candle light, I recited my vows. Even though it were silly at times, I wrote about how Chris and I came to meet, the beginning of our young budding relationship, as well as the present and our future together. It was quite sweet, I do say so myself. Chris’s vows, on the other hand, were breathtaking. He is quite the talented writer, so you can only imagine how beautiful his vows were! I totally cried my eyes out while he read them. :D

It was then time to swap our gifts. Chris went first. He walked into the other room and then came out with his guitar. I was so nervous yet thrilled he was going to play me a song. I was nervous because I knew I was going to cry… which I did. Not only did he play me a song but he also wrote it himself.. lyrics and all. Was the sweetest thing he has ever done! He has wrote me songs before.. but this one topped them all. It was amazing. Literally took my breath away. And the cool thing is I have it on tape, so now I can listen to it whenever I want. :)

Now it was time for my gift! Which was a slide show I have been working on for weeks. It consisted of over 300 pictures of Chris and I dated all the way back from 2000 up until now. It was a little over 16 minutes long with four of our favorite songs playing in the back ground. It was quite cool because within those sixteen minutes, you could really see how much we have grown. Not only as individuals but a couple as well. It was so much fun to make and Chris really enjoyed it. :D

Pose.

Pose.

Marriage life.. at first we felt just the same as we always have besides the excitement and jitters. But honestly, after giving it a few days, we have really become closer. We’re so much happier. It has been such a wonderful past few days. I am so happy to finally be Chris’s wife. :)

Oh, and don’t think all I’m giving y’all is those six above photos. Check out this gallery for tons more! Lots of fun ones in here.

Congratulations, Trina! It is such a beautiful wedding - especially the photo you've linked near the end of the entry where you and Chris stood underneath the tree. I can imagine how beautiful your vows can be - you and Chris are both excellent writiers :) must be a really tear-jerking moment, awww! You reminded me of a funny scene at my aunts wedding, when her mom burst into tears midway through the ceremony, and her daughter and son-in-law had to console her, haha!

It's really nice for Ken, who married you and Chris, to cater to your beliefs. I really respect people like him who are considerate and still enthusiastic towards people who are of a different religion/school of belief from them. Kudos to Ken!

I love the photo you've plugged. Kesley is such a great photographer! Oh, and the cake fight. Chris just had to retaliate, doesn't he? Cake smashing sounds so fun, especially on birthdays and weddings where everyone will be screaming and having fun :) and cream-filled faces brimming with wide smiles.

Wow, Chris even wrote a song (complete with lyrics) for you! Another tear-jerker moment for you. He's just being incredibly sweet! The slideshow is a really symbolic moment for both of you - the years together finally came all together now, and you've found each other out of millions of others.

All the happiness to you, and here's a toast to your marriage!

Oh, it was absolutely beautiful. Everything was just so perfect. I am so glad we decided against having a big wedding. Happy memories and photos is all we need! I keep flipping through the photos.. haha, reminiscing. I wish we could go and relive that day. :P My favorite part was having our family there. Totally beats a justice of the peace marriage with a judge inside their office!

Oh, and Ken was awesome. We are very blessed to have had him do this for us! It was quite special and unique the way he done things. It was wonderful. :)

Haha! And the cake fight.. what a blast. There was 3+ people taking photos of us with cake all in our faces. Good times. :P It was kind of special in a silly way.. It was almost like a tradition for my mom to smash cake in someone's face on birthdays/parties.. so we just HAD to do it on our wedding, y'know. :)

It was quite odd not having my mom there. I was afraid I'd be upset and sad not having her there to watch me get married. But, in a way, I know she was there. :) There were soo many butterflies flying around us. (Since my mom's passing, I have been greeted by so many butterflies, usually on important days or days when I miss her. -- it's quite special!) One butterfly even swarmed Chris pretending to attack him. I laughed and was like "There's Momma, watch out, Chris!" haha Was a good time. :)

Thank you so much for your blessing, Teddy. Means a lot to us for you to be thinking of us on our special day! <3

I must admit, I didn't expect it, but that is honestly one of the most beautiful weddings I've ever seen/read about - far, far more romantic and simply gorgeous than any church ceremony I've attended. Congratulations! I don't think you need me to wish you any more happiness, I think you've got it all :P

Aww, thank you so much, Ann. :D I agree! It was simply amazing. So much more special and beautiful than I could have imagined. Totally glad we did not fork over thousands for a big ceremony! It was special enough with having our family there, under the tree where he proposed.. it was perfect!

Wow, Latrina! Congratulations! I'm blown away and I don't even know where to start - what a beautiful wedding. I'm touched at how absolutely sweet your wedding day was - from the lovely ceremony in the serene pine-tree clearing to the song Chris wrote and performed for you. Aww.

Oh I agree with Teddy that Kesley's photos are awesome! I absolutely love the 1st and 3rd photo - great composition and they really do convey deep feelings of you and Chris.

Congratulations, once again to both you!

Oh, we were so blessed to have my sister, Kelsey, there to capture our special day! I have always told Chris.. I don't want a big dress or a fancy cake, all I care about is you and tons of photos! hehe -- and we got just that. A TON. Kelsey was awesome! She was snapping away. I have been encouraging her to take up photography. I'm trying to teach her a few things, or at least the little I know about photography. :)

You look absolutely gorgeous and he looks great as well. I'm very happy for you guys, sounds like it was a great wedding! I love love love the fact that you guys didn't go over the top, but it was so personal that it was probably just as memorable as a giant wedding with a massive dress would have been. I'm a long time reader, probably first if not second time commenter, and I think that you totally deserve this. :)

Aww, wow. Thank you, Sean. It was perfect, and you're totally right.. it was so much better than any expensive ceremony we could have had. I think what made it so special is that it totally portrayed us, down to the clothes we wore, the trees we got married under, and the family we had near us. It was perfect!

Thank you so much for reading & finally deciding to leave a response. :)

@ Clem. Aww, Thank you so much! It was so hot that day, I was worried that you could tell how tired & worn out I was. But I think the camera hid it well. :P heh

@ Regina. Ty, very much. :D I can not wait to print off the photos and start making scrapbook pages. :P

@ Chien. I liked the last one as well. I can't remember what he said to make me laugh so much, but it turned out to be a fun photo! Thank you, btw, for reading. :)

@ Manda. Oh, it was! I couldn't have dreamed up anything better. Thank you!

@ Kathleen. So much fun! Thank you for stopping by and for you congratulations. :D

I'm so glad the weather was nice and the day seems to be absolutely perfect and obviously picture perfect. :) Thank you for sharing such a beautiful day with all of us.

Aww, thank you so much, Morgan. :) You are such a sweetheart!

Yesss, the day was absolutely perfect. It was so wonderful to have some of my my family members there. It totally beat the hell out of a justice of peace wedding! The reception afterward was fantastic.. my family surprised us with cake, decorations, and gifts.. and the ghetto-ing of our car, haha. It was perfect. :)

And yes! I agree. We are meant for each other, aren't we? :P Seriously.. I could never picture myself with any one else.

SO, when is it y'alls turn?? :P
