Welcome, 2010. Oh.. how I hope you are good to me. I am pretty pumped about this year actually. I have a feeling it’s going to be a great year — lots of new experiences, new books to indulge in, new places to explore, and not to mention my 25th birthday. I don’t know what it is but turning 25 seems pretty exciting. All in all, I do think 2010 is going to be one hell of a year. It was the first thought when waking up on the morning of the 1st. I smiled and got out of bed to the start of a new year.
So, Chris and I decided to stay home on New Year’s Eve. We cooked dinner together and shared a bottle of wine. It was a very lovely evening despite me almost falling asleep a few times. ;) I managed to stay up past midnight but I was in bed shortly after the night had ended. And I slept well. :D
Salad with fresh broccoli, spinach, peppers, chicken and lots more.
The next day Chris decided to make me a Venetian Sunset. His recipe consisted of 3 parts — wine, pineapple juice, and cherries. And it was the most delicious drink I have ever tasted. The sweetest of wines is not sweet enough for me so this really increased my love for wine. Not only did it taste good but it looked good as well. Props to the husband!
A Venetian Sunset Chris made for me. Was so yummy!
I want to start off this year with a positive mind-set. I don’t want to spend this year wasting time. After all, I am turning 25 in a few months and so it just seems like a good year to get things started. I want to start saving money. Go back to school & start thinking about possible careers. I’m also wanting to plan a week-long vacation for the husband and I. There are a lot of things I want to do this year and I am so damn pumped to get started. I really feel 2010 is the year of many possibilities and it’s so damn great feeling. I have so many ideas & thoughts racing through my mind right now, I will definitely have to continue this in my next blog entry. :) Until then, have a great week and a happy new year!
What are you looking forward to this year? Is there any goals or resolutions you have set for yourself?
Happy New Year, Latrina! :) I hope 2010 is good to all of us. :D I hope you accomplish all of your goals for this year. :) That salad looks delicious. It's mouthwatering (It's 4PM and I realize that I haven't had lunch yet).
I agree with you, though. 2010 is brimming with so many opportunities and possibilities. The thing I'm really looking forward to this year is finally constructing our house. We spoke to the architect this morning, and it felt awesome. I know we still have a long way to go, but actually being able to take the steps toward that goal is exhilarating. :P
Yes! I am glad to know that I'm not the only one who sees 2010 as the year for many possibilities & experiences! I am stoked. :D
Oh, and a big congratulations to you! I can't not imagine the excitement you must be feeling about constructing your new home. I'm sure it's overwhelming as well. Not only is it nice to actually be able to have a home but be a part of the building process is definitely a plus! I hope it all goes well. Congratulations again. :D
With this love for food & presentation of it that this family (obviously) thrives on, we should open a family restaurant. LoL! I'm so glad that you & Chris are enjoying ur new home & familyy. :)
I have a feeling that 2010 is going 2be very interesting 4us all.
Not gonna lie, that drink looks right up my alley. GL in 2010, I'm hoping it's going to be a good year for me esp in the money vacation department... Hopefully Ill get a chance to go on another cruise!
Hello! Another cruise? Psh, I'd be happy if I were ever able to go on just one! But I wish you luck on that! It's always nice to get away from home and the familiarity of things... vacations are always nice. :D I see myself taking a few this year as well!
WEll Chris has the know how. & it's what I was made 4. With your recipes tho. U know I can't cook. Well, I can cook with someone else's creation. LoL! Altho, I have come up with a wonderful chicken pasta with homemade alfredo sauce. DELISH !!!! :)
Yay! I'm so glad you had a nice New Years Eve! I didn't make it to midnight...I only made it to 10:00! Poor Brett had to ring in the New Year on his own with Liam, oh..no..wait...Liam went up to bed with me! Haha.
I am very excited for 2010, too. 2009 wasn't really that great for me and I am in need of a fresh start, so a New Year is the way to go for that. I'd love to save up for a vacation for us, too. Yes, please! Probably won't happen...so I hope it happens for one of us!
Aww, poor Brett! Had to ring in the new year alone. :P So cute that you and Liam went to bed, hehe. I had to struggle to keep myself up and of course... shortly after midnight I fell asleep. :P
I have a big feeling that 2010 will be a good one for the both of us! I love the feeling of starting over in a new year. There's so many possibilities. :) Here's to a killer new year to the both of us!
I need a Firefox add=on that detects pictures of food when in "hunger" status to prevent me from salivating at the look of delicious noms.
This year I'm just looking forward to making more money and just enjoying life as I have been the last few months :). Didn't feel necessary to try to force resolutions on myself if I usually don't follow them in the first place.
Mwhaha, I'll find some way around the add-on, trust me. :P
I've never been that great at resolutions either. It's not that I can't stay motivated, I sometimes just forget. That's why this year I set a resolution a little like yours -- just be happy & enjoy the year. :) There's something I'm not going to forget. Good luck with the money making! I'm in the same boat as you. :P
I absolutely love love love salads! I'm more of the original-type of salad girl. I would go for the Caesar. I'm really hesitant to try new salads because I am picky with them. But the salad in that picture, looks absolutely delicious!
The drink looks pretty to drink as well! :) They match each other perfectly. It would be nice to eat and drink them at a really nice setting.
I love them too. :D I'm not picky with mine at all... I think I used to be growing up though. I would prefer lettuce, cheese and ranch dressing. Now I'm up for anything. If I'm at a salad bar, I load the plate up with random ingredients. :D It's cool, salads are really versatile & I just love that.
Ohh, I love the drink. I'm not much of a wine drinker so having a little mixed in with fruit juice is my kind of drink! :) We had some with our dinner tonight too. This time we added a little cran-pomegranate juice -- it was so good. :)
Happy super belated new year, Trina! I can't believe we're already halfway into January and I'm yet to comment on this entry of yours.
I really love the idea of spending a quiet night at home on New Year's Eve. You are one of the few people I know who could shy away from all the raunchy crowds and rowdy nightclubs - many friends of mine wanted to head out and just get dead drunk on New Year's day - something which I think isn't one would want to start a new year off with, right? :P
Chris is really a good cook and a great drink maker too! I am totally mesmerized by the photo of the venetian sunset drink that you've taken.
Happy new year, Trina (((huggggs))) Wishing you all the best in the year ahead and may everything be smooth-sailing for you.
Hi, Teddy! Oh, no worries. :) There's no rush to comment, I understand life gets in the way of web-time. I do appreciate you making time to stop by though. :) As always!
Eek, Chris and I are not the people who enjoy the nightclub/bar setting. Mostly because we can't stand being around people who are drunk... and let's face it, most of the people there will be drunk. :P I suppose we enjoy the company & entertainment of each other that we don't need to go out. :P
Chris is indeed a great cook! I got lucky, I tell 'ya. lol He made me another venetian sunset tonight but this time I decided to put a little cran-pomegranate juice in it -- oh man, it was delicious. :)
*Hugs!* Aww, thanks, Teddy! May this year bring lots of new experiences & excitement for you. :)
